At MW Prestige Imports, we understand that importing a car from Japan can seem like a daunting task. That's why we offer a comprehensive Import Service to streamline the process and make it as effortless as possible for our customers. Here's a step-by-step guide to how our Import Service works:

Consultation
Once we have an understanding of your needs we require a £500 payment so we can leverage our extensive network of Japanese auctions and dealers to source the perfect vehicle for you. Whether it's a classic JDM car, a modern ULEZ-compliant model, or a Euro import, we'll scour the Japanese market to find the ideal match.
Sourcing
Once we have found a vehicle that we consider to suit you we will forward photos and the auction inspection report via phone or email. if you are happy with the vehicle we have found and would like to proceed and submit a bid we will do this on your behalf. if the selected car we have found does not meet your criteria, we will then continue the search until a suitable vehicle has been found.
Inspection
Once you are happy with a vehicle that we have found, our staff in japan will thoroughly inspect the vehicle on the day of the auction before any bid is placed. this ensures that the vehicle meets our high standards and if for whatever reason it does not we will not bid. When a vehicle passes our quality control inspection we will then place a bid based on the budget that has been previously discussed. If the bid is not successful we will continue our search for you.

Once a successful purchase has been made, the vehicle will be transported to a secure yard which you will then receive further photos of the vehicle. At this point we will require the remaining balance and once it has been paid, your vehicle will now be processed for shipping.
Shipping
We estimate shipping times around 40-50 days from departing japan, the ship calls at various ports around the world and does not come directly to the uk. we use Liverpool and newcastle ports but we can make exceptions for those who wish to collect and register there own vehicles. when your vehicle is around 10 days from arrival import duty and vat have to be paid, this allows plenty of time for paperwork to be taken care of and the vehicle import to be processed by customs. We will then have your vehicle collected and brought to us ready for registration process.

MOT and Registration
Once your vehicle has arrived with us we will then inspect the vehicle and prep it for MOT or any other relevant inspections. If any issues are found on the mot we will inform you and proceed to have our approved garage carry out the repairs required.

Once the MOT process is completed and the certificate has been awarded we will then register the vehicle with the DVLA. This process can take 4-6 weeks but you are more than welcome to come and view your new purchase while waiting for the documents to be returned. We can also have the car delivered to you pending registration if this is something you would prefer.

When your vehicle is registered with the DVLA we will contact you with your new registration number and to organise collection. We also offer nation wide delivery including northern Ireland and Southern Ireland. Before your vehicle leaves us its will undergo a detail and valet to ensure it meets our high standards of presentation.

We also offer various service packages, cambelt changes, wheel refurbs, supply and fit wheels, supply and fit parts the list continues. This can all be carried out during the registration process so your car is ready to use as soon as the documents arrive.
